Port Hedland
Located in the Pilbara (North West) region of Western Australia, 1600kms north of the state capital - Perth, the Town of Port Hedland boasts a population of approx 15,000. A port for primarily exporting iron ore railed in from mines as far inland as Mt Newman (425kms south) and the Shay Gap deposits (180kms East).
The Hedland Sporting Shooters Club
(HSSC) was founded in October
1986 by a group of local enthusiasts. The first event held at the range was
Field Rifle, on the 19th June 1988.
The range and club continued to develop and grow with membership increasing from less than 20 shooters to an average of 100 financial members over the past 3 years.
Our aim is to bring people together to enjoy a few hours of competition with their preferred firearm.
We pride ourselves in promoting a safe target shooting environment for all who visit our range. Qualified Range Officers are only too pleased to explain all the safety rules and give instructions and training in the safe use and care of firearms.
We hope you enjoy browsing our site. Please contact us if you have any queries.
Access to the Hedland Sporting Shooters' Club range is dependent on road conditions (especially during the "wet season") so contact the Secretary for an update.
